For 5 years Tricia was the Bucks County Council Cabinet Member for Health & Wellbeing with responsibility for 40% of the Council Budget. One of the direct benefits to Chiltern Ridges was the building of the Chesham Opportunities Centre and the new Care home for older people in Cameron Road. She cares passionately about our environment and is currently Chairman of the Rights of Way Committee and a Trustee of the Chiltern Society. She championed local causes in her role as Chairman of Bucks County Council.
Since the announcement of HS2 Tricia has spent the last seven years fighting the project, attending Select Committee meetings in Parliament, talking to Members of Parliament, writing regularly to the Press and working with local action groups to stop it. During the construction phase she would hold HS2 to account on Health & Safety, protection of our unique environment and managing the increase in traffic movements. This would be an absolute priority. People express concerns about the state of some local roads and Tricia would continue to fight for extra budget to maintain and improve the roads and pavements. Working with the Local Area Technician she would go out on site regularly and be vigilant in ensuring quality repairs to our roads.
