Buckinghamshire Councillor for Chiltern Ridges Ward
I am best known locally as a passionate advocate, whether it is problem solving issues my residents are facing, tackling a local environmental issue or advocating on behalf of residents with third party organisaions. My family and I have loved living in Chesham for almost 25 years and know the Chiltern area very well. I was delighted to be the town Mayor during 2018/19 and loved supporting my local community, raising over £12,000 for the River Chess in the process. As the Group Chair at Chiltern District Council and a member of Chiltern’s planning committee I have always fought to get a better and fairer deal for Chesham and the surrounding villages. As part of my ongoing commitment I am:-
- a School Governor at Elmtree Junior School,
- a member of the Chesham and Villages Local Area Forum,
- Chair of Chesham’s Flood Action Group and Impress The Chess volunteers,
- Vice Chair of the AV&L Community Association,
- Chair of Chesham Town Council’s Rec & Arts committee, leading on expansion and refurbishment projects for The Elgiva Theatre, the Moor Gym & Swim and Lowndes Park,
- co-founder of the Communi-Tree Project, aiming to plant 100 to 200 trees within the urban footprint of Chesham,
- an active committee member of the Chiltern Chamber of Commerce, Chesham Environmental Group, Chesham Allotment Group,
- a member of the Bucks & Milton Keynes Association of Local Councils Executive,
- an experienced Safeguarding Officer for Little Abbey Bowmen archery club, and
- a Bucks Community Champion.
