Prime Minister Boris Johnson has promised an extra 20,000 police on our streets.
The first wave of new recruits has been announced today, with Thames Valley Police getting 183 new police officers.
This is in addition to an extra 69 officers and 140 staff (including investigators and call operators) already funded from council tax this year.
